Geographic Tongue?: Without actually examining you, we can only guess as to exactly what you have. However, one possibility is something called geographic tongue. As this is only a guess and not a definitive diagnosis, it warrants you actually seeing a dentist to giving you an accurate diagnosis, as there are many other conditions that it might be, some of them requiring treatment. Numbness is a concern.

Diagnosis: It sounds like it is time to have someone look at it and run some tests to give you a diagnosis. An oral surgeon, dentist, or oral medicine specialist should be able to help you.
