Not likely: Giving up gluten is one of the new fads for being more healthy. That is a great idea if you have celiac disease (gluten intolerance). However, gluten likely has little to do with lupus.

Quite possibly: We don't fully understand the cause of lupus but it's an autoimmune disease & many with these issues have imbalances of intestinal flora & resultant food sensitivities. Gluten is one of the more common food sensitivities. About 3 million americans have celiac disease but 18 million have gluten sensitivity that can aggravate symptoms. The best way to see if it helps is to try avoiding for a month.

Yes: Lupus is an autoimmune disease. All autoimmune diseases originate in the inflamed gut. Via leaky gut syndrome or intestinal permeability. Gluten is know cause of gut inflammation. In addition you may want to eliminate all grains and legumes as they contain similar proteins. Try it for a month and eval your symptoms.
