A member asked:

I have antibody p in blood. what does that mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hemolytic anemia: Have you had problems with anemia? Auto antibodies that recognize the p antigen on red blood cells cause something known as donath-landsteiner hemolytic anemia (dhla), previously known as paroxysmal hemoglobinuria. Dlha is associated with sudden onset of hemoglobinuria (hemoglobin in urine after red blood cells break open) after exposure to cold temperature. Treatment is varied based on symptoms.
