I still have swallowing difficulties after getting a thyroidectomy 17years ago! i often get close to chocking with pills...what can i do to help?

LERD +/- Dysphagia: Exposure of vocal cords to acid & pepsin may result in inflammation of the cords (as with acid regurgitation) = lerd. Acute laryngitis may result, but watch out for chronic hoarseness, throat clearing, airway spasms, bronchitis, an asthma-type presentation, & higher risk of throat cancer. Strictures (narrowings of esophagus from scarring) & dysmotility may also cause your symptoms. Get checked.
