A member asked:

Why is there never any pain when i urinate, even though a uti has been confirmed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Any symptoms?: Patients without symptoms, but who have urine cultures which are positive for bacteria have asymptomatic bacteruria. A true UTI requires a positive urine culture in association with some symptom. That symptom is not always pain with urination (dysuria). It could alternatively be urinary frequency, urgency, suprapubic or flank pain, blood in the urine, fever, chills, lethargy, or even confusion.
