A member asked:

Possible to self diagnose ulcerative colonitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Signs, yes. Diagnose and management, no. Ulcerative colitis is an autoimmune disease definitely diagnosed by endoscopy. Major symptoms of uc are diarrhea, rectal bleeding, spasms of the gut wall, passage of mucus, and crampy abdominal pain. If you have any of those, please see a doctor.
