My son, age 7, has had a persistent fever of 101 to 102 since sunday, 1/6/13. he has little to no appetite and extremely exhausted. is it a virus?

Most likely, but..: Symptoms other than fever? Cough, runny nose, or diarrhea? These would suggest a virus of some sort. Any swelling of his hands or feet, redness of eyes, new rash, peeling of skin, or cracked dry lips? If he has more than one of these symptoms, i would be concerned about kawasaki's disease, especially once he has 5 days of fever. If has 5 days of fevers, bring him in to see doc.
