Mycoplasma infection: A mycoplasma infection typically causes a prolonged, though usually mild, pneumonia. This infection is also called atypical pneumonia or walking pneumonia. It is usually not dangerous, though is easily transmissible. Antibiotics like Azithromycin can shorten the course of the infection and make it less likely to spread.
