Why?: Alcohol is a potent source of calories, with twice the number of calories per gram as sugar, and almost as many as fat. If losing weight is important to you, and it seems like it is, alcohol should not be part of the plan. A standard drink has about 120 calories in just from alcohol, plus whatever else is in it (esp with beer). In addition, there is little evidence that "fat burners" really work.
