Is there really such thing as a "visual migraine"? and is it indicative of a problem requiring further care?

Term describes: Aura of classical migraine where visual disturbance such as sparkling bright lights precede the migraine headache, but could occur in some without the headache. Not usually sign of impending serious problems, but on occasion, loss of vision is not migraine but consistent with transient ischemia so pays to see your doctor and get this diagnosed.

Migraine variant: Visual or ocular symptoms are very common in migraine. These visuals illusions may involve lights, colors, jagged lines, distortions of space and time, etc. Good ophthalmology evaluation would be appropriate. If normal, ño other evaluations are necessary.
