What should i expect from getting a carotid angiogram?

Answers! : For the procedure, you lie on your back on an x-ray table. X-ray cameras may move over and around your head and chest to take pictures from many angles. You may be given a sedative through the IV to help you relax, as well as other medications and fluids. You'll be awake during the test. The groin is numbed and a needle and tube is placed into the artery. Risk of stroke is less than 1%.

2D BloodDye Picture: Angiogram means blood picture. The other answer talks about procedure details only. Keep in mind: arterial disease in within the artery walls & does not show in the angiogram pictures. The pictures only show a 2d image of dye added into the blood, so that the blood column shows on x-ray. Be sure that you see, closely examine & keep copies of the images & work on understanding them; your body/life.
