OA in ankles: Maintain proper weight, exercise regularly (but not to the point of exascerbating ankle pain). Use otc zostrix (capsaicin) cream/thermacare wraps twice daily for arthritic pain relief. Good luck.

Get it evaluated: Arthritis limited to the ankles is unusual in a 36 year old. If the ankles are swollen consider lofgren' syndrome. See a rheumatologist.
