48-72 hours: Following extraction the acute inflamation susbides in about 72 hours in an uncomplicated scenario. But you will only be able to eat normally again once the tooth has been replaced prosthetically not unlelss it was a wisdom or baby tooth. The discomfort from the rct should subside sooner than the extraction wound.

It depends.: After a root canal, you can eat on the tooth once it is comfortable and protected w/ a restoration. After an extraction, eat on the other side for several days so the clot in the socket is not dislodged.

A few days to a week: It may take as long as a week. Start with soft bland foods. Work your way up to normal food in a week. Take vit esterc 1000mg with breakfast and dinner x 2 weeks to speed up healing.
