Maybe not: Wisdom teeth do not always have to be removed. If the teeth erupt normally, there is no reason to extract them. They will function well in your mouth. Wisdom teeth need to be removed if they are impacted and do not erupt normally. This impaction can be in the bone or the soft tissue. If you get infections in the soft tissue as the wisdom teeth erupt, it may be necessary to extract them.

Not necessarily: Sometimes wisdom teeth erupt fully just like your other natural teeth and in this case they do not need to be removed. Other times, wisdom teeth do not develop at all and are congenitally missing; in this case, they don't even exist to be removed. Also, a wisdom tooth can be so deeply impacted that if it is not affecting the other teeth (crowding or impinging upon them) then they can remain.
