Factor IX concentrat: Christmas disease or hemophilia b is a congenital bleeding disorder due to deficiency of a clotting factor, factor ix (9). Highly purified factor ix concentrates are now available, and it is infused into patient's vein for treatment of bleeding. Now small repeated doses of the factor ix are commonly given starting in childhood to prevent parmanent joint damage at many hemophilia centers.
