Physician: If by "reaction" you mean a rash or other symptoms of allergy or anaphylaxis take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and stop the amoxicillin. Contact the doctor who prescribed it. Or see a physician or go to er.

If anaphylaxis - MD: A significant number of people are allergic to amoxicillin. If having an allergic/ anaphylactic response (hives, rash airway closing off) you need immediate attention (M.D.). Anaphylactic allergic responses can be fatal. Epinephrine should be administered. If the reaction is milder, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can help. Stop taking it. Gi distress isn't allergy, call the prescribing dr.
