3+ months: Fractures of C2 range from very mild fractures to severe fractures that place the spinal cord at risk. Some need a simple collar, some a halo, and others a surgery. Depending on the specific fracture and how it is treated, it can take 3-6 months to be completely healed. All C2 fractures should be seen by a spine surgeon to make sure they heal properly to protect your spinal cord.

How do you tell if your knee is fractured?

2 doctor answers6 doctors weighed in
Dr. Matthew Enna
Orthopedic Surgery 20 years experience
See an MD: It would be very difficult to diagnose a fractured knee without having x-rays first. Sometimes a fracture is obvious without x-rays, but not uncommonly, patients will think they simply "bruised" a bone or "sprained" a joint when in fact they have a fracture. In other words, if you think you may have a fracture, go get it checked out!

With less energy: It takes less energy from falls to cause a wrist fracture in an osteoporotic person. Also, the fractures can be more "smashed" into pieces with ostoeporosis.
