Cephalosporin antibiotic for uti? and does this class of antibiotics cause any heart effects like qt prolongation?

OK for UTI;no longQT: The cephalosporin class can be used for treatment of a uti. Hopefully a culture was obtained to make sure the bacteria you are treating is sensitive to this. Cephalosporins cause no long qt issues.

See below: Cephalosporin antibiotics are frequently used to treat uti's. They are usually very well tolerated and do not generally prolong the qtc interval.
