You should get echo: It depends on what is causing the murmur. Murmurs are caused by turbulent blood flow and can range from mild to severe. The majority of murmurs can be categorized as what are commonly referred to as "innocent", and are entirely benign, needing no further evaluation. Best way to find out the source of your murmur is an echocardiogram. If you have no exercise induced symptoms, it's likely benign.
