Dark Knees: Dark skin on the knees is a benign condition known as hyperpigmentation. There are a number of possible causes for this pooling of color. It can be genetic or a side effect from a past trauma. Some people just have more pigment in that area for no apparent reason. There are many commercial products available for skin bleaching such as hydroquinone.
