Sorry: The radiologist probably read your spine study on a computer workstation that had electronic tools that made measuring the angle more accurate. The radiologist was not trying to be mean, just accurate. Would you really have qualified for the job with a 40 degree curve?

Clarification.: It sounds like what you need is clarification about what the actual curve is. If you have seen an orthopedic surgeon who is trained in scoliosis, they should be able to discuss with you the accurate measurement of your curve. If there is a descrepancy, you can ask the doctor to clarify it and if it is not accurate, I am sure they would be willing to correct the report.
