A member asked:

Are steroids effective in inner ear problems?

Yes: They are an absolute necessity for sudden sensorineural hearing loss. They are taken by mouth and injected through ear drum. They can also be very useful for temporary or acute flair ups of labrynthitis and meniere's disease. There is evidence that suggests injection of steroids trough the ear drum, decreases the chance of developing hearing loss with meniere's disease.

Need more info: Please see an ENT who can look into your ears. Meniere's disease, autoimmune inner ear disease and sudden sensorineural deafness have been shown to improve with steroids. But I do not know what kind of inner ear problem you have.
