Loss of receptive &: Expressive language in children ~ age 3-10. Different than regressive autism, landau-kleffner syndrome has a continuous epileptic pattern on eeg in slow-wave sleep. 80% have clinical seizures, also behavior problems & inattention.Assessed by ped. Neurologists, ped. Neuropsychologists, & speech/language pathologists. Cause unknown. Treatment: anti-epileptic meds. Other types of aca exist.
