Do they dialate your eyes during a lasik consultation?

They should: There are sometimes hidden silent eye problems that can be diagnosed and treated first or could preclude lasik.

Run if they don't!: Dilation of the eyes allow for not only a complete examination of the eyes and its structures, it also allows for a complete evaluation of its refraction. Both the physical structural examination and complete refraction profile are essential to recommending someone for the surgery and its outcome!

A must for complete: During the initial "am i a candidate" consultation, dilation may not be needed. When the complete examination and consultation is done, dilation is a must! this allows complete exam of the eye for health and safety. It also enables the doctor to check the glasses prescription after dilation, which is very important for accurate surgery. More info: www.2020vision.Com.

Yes: If it is your preop examination, you will be dilated to get your cycloplegic refraction and to perform a dilated fundus exam.
