How do you get tested for vesicoureteral reflux?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

VUR: One way to assess for vur (vesicoureteral reflux) is with a VCUG (voiding cystourethrogram). To perform this test a catheter is placed into the urinary bladder in order to introduce radio-opaque contrast into it. Once the bladder is filled the patient voids under flouroscopy. If contrast goes up the either ureter then vur is proven.
