My tendons and/or ligaments in my heel are too short, causing me chronic foot and ankle pain. how can this be treated?

Orthotics: Orthotics will support your arch and reduce pain in the heel, arch and ball of foot. It will also keep the posterior tibial tendon and achilles' tendon from overuse. Otherwise surgical intervention may require lengthen of your achilles' tendon.

EQUINUS: Did a doctor diagnose this problem; it's called equinus, secondary to a tight/short Achilles tendon. There are stretching protocols, but some question if they are helpful in an adult. If it's truly equinus and stretching does not help, there is surgery to lengthen the tendon. Sincerely, Dr. Latva
