How to treat heel pain?

Heel pain treatment: You should get properly diagnosed that it is for example plantar fasciitis vs heel/stress heel fracture vs baxters nerve compression. If for example it is plantar fas, then stretching with nsaids can help acutely. Orthotics can help as well. You should see your local podiatrist or ortho foot and ankle if pain persists.

Depends on the cause: Heel pain is most often caused by plantar fasciitis, a condition that is sometimes also called heel spur syndrome when a spur is present. Heel pain may also be due to other causes, such as infection, tendonitis, arthritis, stress fracture, nerve irritation, retained foreign body, bone tumor, or a cyst. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.

Avoid flats.: If your pain is on the bottom of your heel it is most likely plantar fasciitis/fasciosis which is cause by excessive stress/strain to the plantar fascia on the bottom of the foot. Some treatment options are arch supports, anti inflammatory meds, stretching exercises, and of course, rest. Heel pain is successfully managed with conservative treatment in close to 90% of cases.

Heel Pain: You MAY have a heel spur--a tiny bony outgrowth on a bone. Please see a foot doctor. He/she can diagnose and treat accordingly. Peace and good health.
