What changes does a parent have to make for a child with cf?

Disease Management: There are a number of factors that need to be considered in raising a child with cf. These decisions also depend on the severity and manifestations of CF in the individual child. It is best to work with your pediatrician and/or pediatric pulmonologist to come up with a plan for how to provide the best preventative care as a team approach.

Caution: Numerous changes are needed: attention to nutrition and enzyme supplementation, if needed; adherence to a busy regimen of inhaled treatments; close cooperation with a CF center to identify and treat lung infections early; extra care for common hygiene matters and infection control at home. A good exercise regimen can also help.
