A member asked:

Can millions of lice cause rubbery hard not movable swollen lymph node? and is it true it takes more than 4 months to go away?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Strange question: Lice do not cause lymphadenopathy by themselves. They may transmit organisms to their host which causes immune defense mechanisms to be activated. This may include enlarged lymph nodes, but generally not hard, immobile nodes. This needs to be carefully examined and perhaps biopsied.
