A member asked:

I'm 72 years old, and i take enarapril 20mg , water pill, and meteroprolol 50mg. i don't drink, smoke, no salt intake, no fats still my bp is high?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Very possibly.: Most high blood pressure is what we call idiopathic. That means not caused by anything in particular we can discover. High BP is not caused by smoking or fats, but may be made a little worse with excess salt intake. The amount of medications you take does not seem excessive. Your goal BP should be around 135/80 unless you have some special circumstances.
