Around cats if allergic while pregnant could cause any type of harm to my baby?

Problem not allergy: The problem is not allergies with cats, although it's no fun to be sneezing all the time while pregnant. Bigger issue is toxoplasmosis, a disease that outdoor cats (not house cats) can carry and which pregnant moms can get from handling cat feces (changing the litter). Toxoplasmosis can be devastating to the unborn child.

No : There is no risk for the baby since the antibody responsible for producing allergic response doesnot pass through the placenta.
