Blood: You may have eroded into a small vessel or simply abraded some tissues in your upper respiratory tract. If this persists, see a doctor and get examined. If you resolve this spontaneously, so much the better.

Hemoptysis: This could be hemoptysis (blood tinged mucus). This can occur with a variety of problems. If it persists, you should be seen by your doctor (especially if you are a smoker).

Metallic taste : Metallic taste after coughing is likely related to stomach acid coming up high in the back of the throat during coughing (reflux). You may not have had the same experience in the past because your cough was not as forceful or your lower and /or upper esophageal pressures were optimal. You may wish to see your doctor about improving the cough and ruling out reflux or other cause.
