Metallic taste : Metallic taste after coughing is likely related to stomach acid coming up high in the back of the throat during coughing (reflux). You may not have had the same experience in the past because your cough was not as forceful or your lower and /or upper esophageal pressures were optimal. You may wish to see your doctor about improving the cough and ruling out reflux or other cause.
