Heartburn?: Here in the states, if you have heartburn, you can take over-the-counter antacids w/o prescription. H2 blockers like cimetidine, Famotidine & ranitidine and proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole & Pantoprazole are also available here w/o prescription. But if these don't help, you really need to go see your gp. If you notice coffee grinds when you vomit, or black tarry stools, go to your a&e now.
