Yes and no.: Back pain would not be related to a positive ana. Also, a positive ANA is relatively nonspecific and can be seen in numerous other conditions and occasionally in normal individuals without any underlying disease. The ANA must always be evaluated in the context of the patient's symptoms.

Probably not: Several people are ANA positive, but have no pathology.
