Not have Herpes!: I am assuming you have herpes, since you would have not asked the question. Both type 1 and 2 herpes are not site specific, ie. Oral and genital types occur in both places. Viral contact with oral or genital areas is requisite. You can shed virus and not be aware of a lesion. Medications: valtex or Famvir (famciclovir) can lessen the likelyhood of transmission, as well as prevent outbreaks! barrier protection!
