Medications, PT: Clonus is over-active reflexes. This can occur after strokes as well as in some other neurological conditions. Occasionally a person will have clonus without any neurological condition. Options include avoiding positions that trigger the clonus; persistent physical therapy after a stroke to help muscle retraining; muscle relaxant medications such as baclofen; and possibly Botox injections.
