Spasms & relaxation: Ankle clonus is a series of abnormal reflex movements of the foot, induced by bending the foot upward at the ankle, causing alternate contraction and relaxation of the calf muscle. This can be present in stroke patients, spinal cord injury, and multiple sclerosis. If this is indeed present, talk to your doctor about getting a neurology referral.
