STREP TONSILLITIS ?: He needs to be seen to have the right DX and rx. Strep throat has exudate, swollen glands, headache, chills and bodyaches and can cause heart problem if neglected.

Get checked out: Sounds like it could be strep. I'd get a culture to be sure.
