Get treatment: This type of experience is very difficult, but there are helpful psychotherapists and psychiatrists who can help you process it so that it no longer claims so much of your life. People I have treated for various traumas do not "forget" what has happened, but it no longer defines them or interrupts what they want to be doing with their lives now. Therapy can really help, esp. With emdr.

How anout a book?: A great book to help you get started is caleed: stop obsessing by rdna foa. I'm not suggesting this book will solve all of your problems, but i'm pretty sure it will help. After you complete the book, you may decide to proceed further with some counseling to help you deal with issues still bothering you.
