I have a ranula under my tongue, and the doctor said we'll leave it alone. but i think it's on my taste buds and sometimes i can't taste anything.?

Can leave it: A ranula is a type of mucocele or mucous retention cyst in the floor of the mouth, if it becomes large it is uncomfortable. It is so named as it resembles a frog (latin for frog). If left alone it will likely spontaneously rupture, or if desired it can be excised or use a syringe to evacuate the liquid (by a doctor, not at home).

Also...: Taste buds are located around the small structures on the upper surface of the tongue, soft palate, upper esophagus and epiglottis, which are called papillae. They are not really in the same area as the ranula, so it is unlikely that the ranula is directly impacting your taste buds.
