Age of son?: Not sure about DX of sinusitis? Problem communicating with the doc? Mild to mod cases of gerd are usually responsive to otc acid reducers such as antacids, zantac, (ranitidine) omeprazole.. It's generally okay to try otc meds for a wk or two then you need to see a doc if no better - a different doc may provide a different perspective / approach.
