See an Eye MD: First of all i hope you have contacted an ophthalmologist right away so that the tear can be treated to salvage your vision. A sauna is not likely go do anything, but why do you want a sauna versus a treatment for the torn retina? The longer you wait the higher the chance for irreparable damage.

Most likely.: It is best to confirm your specific recommendations with your retina specialist or ophthalmologist who diagnosed or treated your condition. If the condition was stable or treated from prior exams, you most likely are ok from sauna use, but in general use caution to avoid any sudden force on the eyes, any significant shaking of the head or eyes, and any rubbing of the eyes.

Sauna not Sports: The community standard is to avoid any lifting greater than ten pounds and to be sedentary. Report any new flashes, floaters, curtains, or shadows to your retinal specialist. If the tear has been lasered and the retina has been checked and healed properly, a sauna should be fine. If the tear is open and unlasered, you should consider having it lasered. Otherwise, it will open up and create rd.
