Swollen genitals: These signs of swelling are not typical of hernia. You should consult your physician asap to be examined to determine the cause. Do not delay because these signs can be from significant disease.

Dr. should evaluate: Abdominal weak spots are at the rt & lft groin. With abdominal pressure or older age, one becomes more likely to get a hernia. A hernia bulge pointing down into the scrotum (men) or labia majora (women) is an "indirect hernia". A doctor needs to check for a twisted testicle (painful emergency!), infection, etc... A hernia may reverse if one relaxes his tummy, while pressing the hernia with a hand.
