How will a dr go about finding out why stool is white in color? what tests?

Blood test: White stools can be caused by many things but if persistent and especially if associated with dark urine and yellowing of the eyes than one would be concerned about liver or gallbladdder disease...A simple blood test including bilirubin level would be the initial test.
