A member asked:

Im on coumadin (warfarin) and everyweek i loose blood could this make me dhydrated if so what do i drink?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Just liquids: Coumadin (warfarin) is a blood thinner, it reduces clotting: how are you losing blood? Only trauma (a cut, bruise etc) would allow the effects of Coumadin (warfarin) to reduce blood volume. Your dosage may need to changed. Speak to an md, especially a hematologist. Hydration has no effect on how the medication works, other than it is healthy to stay hydrated.
