Correct: Wisdom teeth when not aligned properly, is difficult to clean with toothbrush , thus can lead to cavity and gum disease. Food trap around wisdom teeth causes cavity in the adjacent teeth. Your dentist can tell you if alignment is correct or need removal.

Yes: Improperly aligned or malpositioned wisdom teeth can cause problems with adjacent teeth, including periodontal (gum) problems as well as decay in adjacent teeth due to difficulty in cleaning.

Wisdom teeth: usually appear between the ages of 16 and 25. If you are experiencing pain, swollen lymph nodes and it does not go away or if you find it difficult to open your mouth, you should see a dentist for evaluation, x-ray and wisdom teeth removal. However, impacted wisdom teeth that are free from disease and symptoms should not be operated on.

Sometimes: Wisdom teeth can cause problems in neighboring teeth, including resorption, decay, and gum disease. These are more common when the wisdom teeth are not aligned properly in the mouth. When wisdom teeth even pose a threat to other teeth, it is best to get them out before any problems arise. Your dentist should evaluate your wisdom teeth and make a recommendation, so go see your dentist.

Maybe-yes-yes: If you can clean it, you can keep it. If you can't clean it, get it out before it damages teeth you need. See an oral surgeon or dentist with training in the complexities of wisdom tooth removal.
