Yes: Lipitor(and other statins) is very helpful in stabilizing plaque formation in atherosclerosis and work well as anti inflammatory in unstable atheromas which can induce thrombosis or embolization which can lead to ischemia like heart attacks or strokes. It has no role in vasculitis( vascular inflammation ) .They can be used in liver inflammation with caution and adequate monitoring of liver functio.
