Rest: Sounds like you have yourself a bad case of laryngitis. The best course of action is to rest your voice. Breathing warm, moist air is also helpful. If it doesn't get better after resting it for a week or so, consider seeing your doc or an ENT for an evaluation.

Laryngitis: One can start by keeping well hydrated, staying away from acidic foods, start an anti-acid medication like Prilosec (this protects your layrnx from any possible acid reflux even if you have only very little acid reflux). Also starting an NSAID (ibuprofen, allieve) will help as well as taking an anti-cough otc med. If all of the above dont help then you should probably get into see an ENT md.
