Gastrocolic reflex: Most individuals have to have a bm at some point after eating. This is called the gastrocolic reflex. In essence, it is the body's way of clearing the colon to make way for what has just been ingested. In some cases, this reflex is hyperactive such as that seen in ibs. Other conditions such as ibd, thyroid issues, etc.. Can cause this, and these should be ruled out.
