I'm sorry: I will assume the diagnosis is correct. The langerhans cell histiocytosis may evaporate if he stops smoking, or may not. Don't allow the physicians to overtreat him. Making him comfortable and happy and making your love stronger than ever is the best focus for you now. I am glad he has you.

End stage COPD: Your husband, unfortunately, has both severe lung disease and a bad heart. His exercise capacity must be very low. You did not mention hospice care, but his long-term prognosis is not good.
